Artist's Background

Abbey McCulloch has recently completed a Research Masters in Visual Arts at the Queensland College of Art under the supervision of artist Jenny Watson. She has participated in numerous solo and group shows nationally and in 2007 she was short-listed for the Archibald Prize with a portrait of Australian actor Toni Collette.

She has recently been selected as a finalist for the 2008 Metro 5 Art Prize and the 2008 Stan and Maureen Duke Prize.

This year, the Australian Art Collector listed Abbey as one of Australia's 50 most Collectible Artists of 2009. Her portrait of Nell Schofield was also announced as a contender for the 2009 Archibald Prize and is touring nationally.

Born 1975, Resides in Queensland.
