The report highlights twelve critical sites for threatened marine life in the North and draws attention to the urgent need for marine sanctuaries to protect these vulnerable, iconic and unique environments.

Under current plans the Federal Government wants to fully protect only one out of twelve of these underwater icons, and leave only 3% of the North region safeguarded in marine sanctuaries.
